"Tye-guh,” or when you buy one you can pronounce it however you would like.
The Tigé name is based on “Tiger,” the childhood nickname of company founder Charlie Pigeon. Dropping the “r” and adding an accent over the “é” gave the name a European flair that complimented the flowing, euro-design of the company’s first boat models. The unusual name also helped differentiate the Tigé brand from the competition.
Tigé was founded in 1991 in California. In 1994, the company moved its headquarters and manufacturing facility to Abilene, Texas, where it is currently located.
